WE BELIEVE IN

Solving Problems.

Design Thinking as a Toolbox

With a focus on design research, empathy, and co-creation, we believe in this toolbox’s potential to help solve social justice issues plaguing our community.

We lend our tools, experience, and time to local social change organizations who have the expertise on these complex issues, so they can do what they do better.

Digital Divide

How might we expand equal and equitable access to communities impacted by the digital divide?

The Changemaker Series was brought to Austin in 2018, to expand AIGA Austin's design-for-good programming. Each year, we focus on a different cause, with the intention to educate the community and highlight different Austin-based organizations.

DESIGN THINKING
According to global design agency Ideo, “Design thinking utilizes elements from the designer’s toolkit like empathy and experimentation to arrive at innovative solutions. By using design thinking, you make decisions based on what future customers really want instead of relying only on historical data or making risky bets based on instinct instead of evidence.”
HUMAN-CENTERED DESIGN
“…a process that starts with the people you’re designing for and ends with new solutions that are tailor made to suit their needs. Human-centered design is all about building a deep empathy with the people you’re designing for…”
